Peri-implantitis is a major burden in everyday praxis, with a large and increasing number of patients suffering from it.
Management of peri-implantitis is often complex, and despite recent European clinical guidelines, there is no clear consensus on the most effective treatment. Current approaches include first of risk-control management, anti-infective (non-surgical} measures, followed in most cases by surgical – resective, regenerative, or combinations thereof – interventions.
The lecture presents the new European Federation of Periodontology Guidelines, translated in clinical practice and a decision-making guide for the surgical management of peri-implantitis.
The lectured is complemented with several clinical videos and patient cases. By the end of this lecture the participant will be able to: Understand the rational of the various treatment steps in management of peri-implantitis. Recognize the appropriate surgical approach (resective, regenerative, or combination) for each specific case.
